The 2014 US Open offered us the most compelling season we've seen for the year. The last Grand Slam tournament of the season gave us some inspiring stories from upsets to breakthroughs, let us witnessed the future of women's tennis, and also dreams never too late to come true. It has been a tournament of the season, as the slump revives its hunger, only four players are hungrier to take the US Open women's title. With No.10 seed Caroline Wozniacki will take on first-time and unseeded semifinalist Peng Shuai and defending champion and No.1 seed Serena Williams will take on No.17 seed Ekaterina Makarova. Who will book its spot to the finale?

The Semifinals #1
Wozniacki vs. Peng: Wozniacki owned Peng for a 5-1 head-to-head lead, an advantage the you should not count out. But the only win Peng has scored over Wozniacki went distance in 2007 Canadian Open, a warm-up event leading to US Open was their first meeting. Therefore, Wozniacki is 3-1 over Peng on hard courts.

Though Peng is having a tournament of her life, it will still take too much effort to book a spot in the final of a Grand Slam event. But unfortunately for Peng, Wozniacki is reviving her old self that carry her to 2009 US Open final.

Both of them deserve to be in the final. But the question is who needs it most? Experience at the grandest stage favors Wozniacki, that's a huge advantage. But playing with nothing to lose and waiting for 37 chances to reach the coveted stage of the Slams gives Peng extra motivation.

Consistency over consistency. One must negate the strength of the other and take it to her advantage. Peng is a number one doubles player and will surely found the net to her advantage. The battle of the two-handed backhands will be displayed. But who is more consistent? It will be tough and very close. In the end, experience will still emerge victorious.

Finalists: Wozniacki

The Semifinals #2
Williams vs. Makarova: Williams' Grand Slam performances of 2014 has been mediocre. But now she is saving the best for last. And will meet a familiar opponent, No.17 seed Makarova. Makarova, who beaten Williams in 2012 Australian Open quarterfinals, was playing a match of her life. Like Peng, Makarova will need extra efforts to defeat a 17-time Grand Slam Champion Williams.

It is never easy playing a Williams at a Grand Slam stage, everyone knows that. But Williams also falters. Makarova, would only hope a win she scored over Williams, with her brilliant tennis must needed to be much more brilliant to beat Williams. And also, gained some confidence, when she defeated Eugenie Bouchard and Victoria Azarenka, both top 10 players.

But Williams hasn't been pushed too hard in her previous matches. And everyone expect another smooth sailing match, going into the final. Will Makarova continues to upset top players to reach her very first Grand Slam final? Or will Williams is set to rock New York again and claim her 18th Grand Slam title?

Finalists: Williams
