Wimbledon, one of the most prestigious Grand Slam events is finally over. With Queen Elizabeth II visiting the Center Court at All-England Club, everyone seems to be very happy. After some intriguing matches, stunning upsets, unexpected retirements due injuries, and Grand Slam breakthroughs, it ended in a historic way.

As expected, everyone witnessed who won 2010 Wimbledon Ladies' Singles title and it's none other than Ms. Serena Williams. Did anybody chose other than her? Well, I admit I'm one of those. Here's my prediction. My pick for Women's Champion.

Serena Williams
2010 Wimbledon Ladies' Champion

Many have said that the grass court at Wimbledon is slow, but that was not the case as Williams served her way to her 13th Grand Slam title, surpassing the legend Billie Jean King with 12 titles. Williams used her powerful served to get free points from her opponents who seemed to match her power on her way to the final. Did Williams felt pressured in capturing her title? Yes, she is.

The much anticipated match-up against Maria Sharapova in the fourth round is one of the real test she has to faced. Sharapova, battled out Williams neck-to-neck and toe-to-toe in the first set until her opportunities came along. Same through to what happened with Li Na in the quarterfinals and Petra Kvitova in the semifinals. All of these matches went on to first set tiebreak, but after failing to convert and grab the rare opportunities they can get from Williams, the second set was just the formality. They all end up with one result - the end of their Wimbledon campaign and the chance to be crowned Wimbledon Champion.

In the final, Williams met one of the first-time finalists Vera Zvonareva, who stunned Kim Clijsters in the previous round. Zvonareva, who defeated Venus Williams' conqueror Tsvetana Pironkova on her way to the final, is trying to claimed her first Grand Slam title which was achieved by Sharapova in 2004. But she needs to pass Williams challenge, as well as her tantrums on court.

Is she matured enough for this kind of battle? Maybe. But I think it's not enough as Williams have enough experiences on how to win a match like this. And when down, Williams knows how to escape. With her serve and her groundstrokes so punishing, Zvonareva can only charge this match to experience as Williams raises her hands in the air for another victory.
