NOTE: This is my own version of draw analysis on 2010 Internazionali BNL d'Italia. In this self-version of draw analysis, I will pick who I think will be 2010 Internazionali BNL d'Italia Women's Champion.

Former World No.1s Venus and Serena Williams as well as Dinara Safina are back in action, all are coming off from their respective injuries that sidelined them for quite sometime. Safina played her first match at Stuttgart but losses her quarterfinal match against Shahar Peer.

Missing in action in this event are the Belgians, with Kim Clijsters is currently medicating her injuries and doubtful in the coming 2010 French Open and also, Justine Henin, who clinched her very first title at Stuttgart, after coming out from retirement.

The top 10 ranked players are all present in this event and with a long stories of injuries for most top players and some in-form players making their names, who will perform well in this event and be the 2010 Internazionali BNL d'Italia women's champion?

Dinara Safina
2009 Internazionali BNL d'Italia Women's Champion

The Quarters - Part 1
S.Williams opens her match against the winner of the match between Sandra Zahlavova and Timea Bacsinszky. Her first real test will possibly be in the third round, if she will meet the first seeded player named Vera Zvonareva, that is, if Zvonareva gets past one of the dark in this draw, Petra Kvitova, as well as the winner of the match between Andrea Petkovic and Vera Dushevina. Should they meet in the third round, Williams will possibly get through. Svetlana Kuznetsova, the last year's runner-up in this event, opens her match against the winner between fellow Russian Maria Kirilenko and Romina Oprandi. If she gets past Kirilenko, her possible third round opponent will be Samantha Stosur, that is, if she wins her very tricky opening match against Dominika Cibulkova. After finishing runner-up at Stuttgart, will she be able to sustain her stamina in Rome? If Stosur gets through, she might face Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. The teen captures her first title this year and will cause major upset if she performs well. If both Kuznetsova and Stosur overcome their tricky opponents, will possibly book a meeting with Williams in a place for semifinals.

Semifinalist: Williams
Player to watch: Cibulkova has always been a tricky player. Since been toppled outside top 20 and as a semifinalist at 2009 French Open, how fair will her performance in this warm-up event before 2010 French Open.

The Quarters - Part 2
Venus Williams and Jelena Jankovic both receive a bye in the first round. Williams coming off from her injury will opens her match against the winner of Gisela Dulko-Patty Schnyder match. If she able to get through her third round opponent will possibly be Peer, who lost her semifinal match to Henin at Stuttgart. Peer, the in-form player serve as a darkhorse in this draw and can cause upset to top ranked player. And with her current form, Peer might scored her first win against Williams for a quarterfinal spot. Jankovic have also suffered another loss to Henin in their close quarterfinal match at Stuttgart and has yet to score her first win against the Belgian. Her first round opponent will be the winner of the match between the Fed Cup teammates Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Melanie Oudin. Should Jankovic possible third opponent will be Yanina Wickmayer, that is, if she gets past her possible second round opponent Aravane Rezai. This will be an exciting match between Jankovic and Wickmayer as both players showing strong performance in their recent matches. This will be their first meeting and the winner will face either Peer or Williams.

Semifinalist: Jankovic
Match to watch: The first round match between Dulko and Schnyder will be an intriguing one as both will be having a tough time in order to move through the next round.

The Quarters - Part 3
Elena Dementieva has a very tricky path to semifinals as she opens her match against the clash between Yaroslava Shvedova and Bojana Jovanovski. She might be possibly tested in the third round as she awaits the winner of possible clash between Victoria Azarenka and Ana Ivanovic in the second round. However, Safina's possible second round opponent will be Sara Errani. Should she overcome the partisan crowd and outplayed her opponent, Nadia Petrova awaits in the third round. Petrova leads their head-to-head series but Safina is strong again. If Safina wins this battle, her quarterfinal opponent will be fellow Russian Dementieva.

Semifinalist: Dementieva
Player to watch: The former world No.1 and the defending champion will be playing her second event after coming back from back injury that sidelined her for quite some time. Will she be able to defend her crown that put her on the top of the ranking?

The Quarters - Part 4
Agniezska Radwanska might open her match against Alisa Kleybanova. If she pass the Russian's test, a follow up test will follow as she might face Flavia Pennetta for a possible third round round. The partisan crowd will surely cheer for the Italian. How Radwanska overcome such crowd in order to book a spot in the quarterfinals. Her friend Caroline Wozniacki will undergo the same test as she might open her match against Jie Zheng. If she defeated Zheng, claycouter Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, Daniela Hantuchova, and Italian Francesca Schiavone, will be her possible opponent to battle for a quarterfinal spot. The bestfriends will unlikely to meet in the quarterfinals, as one of these conditions might happened - it's either one of them will get past every tricky opponents they encounter to earn a place for semifinals or none of them will reach beyond third round.

Semifinalist: Wozniacki
Match to watch: The Schiavone-Hantuchova match will be an early treat for tennis spectators as both as showing strong performances in their recent matches.

The Semifinals
Williams vs. Jankovic: The two met last 2009 US Open where Williams denied Jankovic chances to win her first Grand Slam on her first trip to finals. This will be an intriguing match with 4-3 head-to-head record in favor of Williams, all played in hard courts. Also, this will be their eighth meeting but their first on clay court. With both players are capable of winning matches on clay, who will be the tougher to beat on dirt? Jankovic in tight three sets.

Dementieva vs. Wozniacki: This will be their first meeting in 2010 and their sixth meeting overall with Dementieva leads 3-2 in their head-to-head. Wozniacki had a great run from the start of clay season until she injured her ankle at Charleston while Dementieva lead her team in the Fed Cup against USA but bowed out. Is Wozniacki ready to take the big title at Premier event and tied her record against the Russian or will the Russian shows her veteran experience and extend her lead against the teen Dane? Wozniacki in three sets.

Finalists: Jankovic, Wozniacki

The Finals
This will be the fifth meeting of Jankovic and Wozniacki but their first on clay and second meeting on tournament finals. Jankovic defeated Wozniacki at Indian Wells final in straight sets and way ahead in their career meetings with 4-0. Jankovic, the two-time champion here in Rome will likely to capture her third Rome title but Wozniacki will try to snap the title and finally scored her first win over Jankovic. Jankovic in straight sets.

Champion: Jelena Jankovic
