Another week of exciting tennis has been witnessed, this time at The Caja Majica. With a number of stunning performances and upsets, game revival and renewing rivalry, and of course, history-making wins, the clay court season warm-up event leading to 2010 French Open will end spectacularly with two deserving champions.
As WTA and ATP heading to the second Grand Slam of the year, we did see in this year's Mutua Madrileña Madrid Open who will be the top contenders in the upcoming prestigious event. Did I predicted it right? My pick for Men's Champion. My pick for Women's Champion.
Women's Singles:
It takes courage, highest level of confidence, and a red-hot form to win big at Premier level tournament, which also includes a complete game plan and power to down top opponents. That exactly what Aravane Rezai did at Madrid.

Rezai, may also don't know what to expect, but bringing up her "A" game when she needs to brought her to the finals and lift the champion's trophy. With her stunning performances, she posted wins over Justine Henin (their first meeting) and Jelena Jankovic (Jankovic leads 2-1) to book a meeting with Venus Williams in the finals.
Though Williams had a chance to level the match at second set but let Rezai came back to take the set, the match, 6-2|7-5 and of course, the biggest title by far of her career. With this win, she established herself as one of the contenders in 2010 French Open.
Will she be able to sustain that kind of performance at Roland Garros and end the long wait and battle cry of French people to have a homegrown champion?

Men's Singles:
Rafael Nadal is in red-hot form, coming into Monte-Carlo without a title for 11 months, and now he has three, all are from ATP Masters 1000 events. He tied Roger Federer with 16 ATP Masters 1000 at Monte-Carlo with a win over Fernando Verdasco, then he defeated David Ferrer to tie Andre Agassi with 17 ATP Masters 1000 at Rome, and now he clinched his record-breaking, history-making 18th ATP Masters 1000 at Madrid with a win over world No.1 Federer, 6-4|7-6(7-5).

Within a month, Nadal has been the first player to win three consecutive ATP Masters 1000 played on clay. At a month shy for his 24th birthday, he will head to Roland Garros with full confidence and a heavy favorite to reclaim his fifth French Open title.
Nadal, the King of Clay reigns again.
