Her angelic face can tell that she's enjoying to be on court playing tennis. Her smile is irresistible as well as her counterpunching groundstrokes. She's lovely and friendly, too.

How can these qualities be transformed into a weapon when she takes on the pinnacle of tennis?

Can it be translated to a stunning performance to win a match?

In some way, it could be done, but for some ways it cannot be.

Caroline Wozniacki
2010 US Open
At such young age, Caroline Wozniacki has already won 10 WTA career titles. The most recent were 2010 Rogers Cup, and she successfully defended her title at New Haven for third consecutive year. But she’s still looking for a Grand Slam title that will solidify her status as a top player. Being ranked No.2 in the world, she already earned a top seed in a Grand Slam event, but this is due to the absence of currently ranked No.1 Serena Williams due to her ever controversial foot injury.

The 2010 US Open will give Wozniacki a chance for her Grand Slam title breakthrough. Can she do it? Yes, she can!

She is one of the top contenders in the wide open women's field. And with the absence of Serena, she is one of the few women's who can take advantage of this.

Wozniacki played a near flawless performance in her first three round matches. She double-bageled Kai-Chen Chang of Taiwan in the second round and allowed Yung-Jan Chan only one service game in their third round encounter, amidst windy conditions.

How her three previous performances will fair against Maria Sharapova?

Wozniacki's experience of reaching finals at the Grand Slam event can be used as a ground on how pressured is handled when it mattered most. What tactics will she use against the three-time Grand Slam winner Sharapova, who has much more experienced than her?

Wozniacki can rely on her solid serve and her groundstrokes, but can she match Sharapova's groundstrokes which are surely heavier or bigger than hers? Wozniacki doesn't produce more winners in her counterpunching style of play and most often on the defensive side. This is will an intriguing and interesting match to watch.

If Wozniacki wins 2010 US Open, she will have an additional one million dollar paycheck for winning the 2010 US Open Series, but what’s significant is, she will be the new world No.1, taking over Serena.

Given these possibilities, can Wozniacki achieve all of these in the remaining week of the 2010 US Open, given the challenges for the Grand Slam title as well as the top ranking is ahead of her?

Yes, Wozniacki knows how to win at the biggest stage and her win at Rogers Cup is a testimony that she can do it. But is she ready to be the dominant force in women's tennis?
