The second Grand Slam of the year at Stade Roland Garros is finally over. The 128 players in the draw are down to two and they will contest for the coveted title. What at stake is high and of course, history books will be rewritten. We witnessed an exciting, interesting, and intriguing matches, as well as stunning upsets, and surprise performances.

Like Americans, British is yet to produce a Grand Slam champion. Performances of American players were not bad but still far from better as they still not embodied of playing well on dirt. However, the two finalists battling out for the title is no strange at all. We've witnessed them playing each other last year, but the question is who has the best tactic to clinched the title, 2010 French Open Men's Champion. Did I predicted it right? My pick for Men's Champion.

Rafael Nadal
2010 French Open Men's Champion

Who would have thought that Robin Soderling will spoil the much anticipated match of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the finals since 2009 Australian Open? Well, Soderling's form is consistently improving and no doubt that he'll be in the finals of the Grand Slam again for two straight year. Last year, Soderling beat No.1 Nadal in the fourth round to go all the way to the finals where he met No.2 Federer. This year he defeated No.1 Federer in the quarterfinals and book a meeting with No.2 Nadal in the finals.

The chances? Soderling both lost the finals match as Nadal went on to reclaim his fifth French Open crown, as well as, supplant Federer in the top of the rankings. It is never easy for Soderling as his weapons, the booming serve and the big-swinging forehand, are no match to Nadal's tactics and excellent play. The eight break point opportunities he earned hardly from Nadal had cost Soderling this match, as he did not convert any of these chances.

Nadal's exceptional play and speed was nearly perfect: the passing shots, the volleys, the cross-court backhand, the forehand, and even the serve. As the match goes on, pressure and frustration on Soderling were mounting.

When the match ends, Nadal was dropped to his back on clay, as he usually do. He went to his chair sobbing for what he achieved: three ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles, fifth French Open crown captured without dropping a set, and the No.1 ranking he achieved for 46 weeks since August 2008. He might end the year as ATP World Tour Champion, if Federer wasn't able to defend the huge amount of points he currently hold. As Nadal heads to the grass court season, he is in high confidence that he can do it again at All England Club.

The King of Clay is dominating again! Good luck Nadal!
